Close to Home Campaign

Close to Home is part of the annual fundraising campaign that provides UConn’s faculty and staff an opportunity to make a gift to the University in a personally meaningful way. The Close to Home committee is Co-Chaired by two distinguished and respected members of UConn’s faculty and staff, Jennifer Person (Payroll) and Rob Hoskin (Accounting). The committee consists of members from UConn’s faculty and staff who believe in the importance of giving back --and know that every gift makes a difference.

The co-chairs and committee members of Close to Home encourage all faculty and staff to make a contribution to support UConn in an area that is meaningful to them. UConn employees can determine where their contribution goes:, a specific school or college, student support, the performing arts or museums, athletics or other worthwhile programs.

Every donation, regardless of size, is important because when those closest to the University show their dedication and pride in the institution, it signifies to alumni and others that UConn’s education, research and public service missions are worthy of their support, too.

The Close to Home Committee (as of 09/27/11):

Members of the Close to Home Campaign Committee provide financial contributions to the University of Connecticut and serve as leaders inspiring others to make a commitment in support of  fellow UConn faculty, students and staff.  Committee members agree to attend committee meetings throughout the year.  They also meet with groups of employees to communicate their own reasons for giving back to UConn, and to ask fellow employees to participate by making a gift.
