The University of Connecticut's 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students have dreams of becoming scientists, teachers, health care professionals, artists, business entrepreneurs, engineers and more. Their journey begins with outstanding academics and career guidance, but important experiences also come from outside the classroom. Students can seek out faculty mentors; participate in groundbreaking research, community service and public engagement activities; and build lifelong connections with fellow students. Private support ensures that these opportunities will always be a part of educating the entire student.
Gifts to The Fund for UConn are resources that can easily be directed to where they are needed most. Areas include funding for student aid and merit scholarships, undergraduate research grants, study abroad and internships, First- and Senior-Year Experience programs, faculty support, diversity initiatives and student activities. This flexibility allows University leadership to respond to ever-changing needs and circumstances for the greatest benefit to the entire campus community.

Student Calling Program
The Office of Annual Giving reaches out to alumni, parents and friends through our Student Calling Program. More than 100 bright, engaging students make over one million calls each year as we contact members of the UConn family to ask for your support. Please take a minute to speak with our students when they call. They love to hear about your UConn experiences and can even give you a quick update on what's happening at UConn today!

Donors help create extraordinary students by providing them with extraordinary opportunities. Thanks to a generous donation, I was able to turn my idea for historical research into a full-fledged summer project. It has been the most meaningful experience that I've had at UConn so far.

Being an active member of the Finance Society has transformed my first year at the University of Connecticut. I have learned how to network with professionals at Career Fairs to apply for internships and how to professionally brand, present, and market myself on paper and in conversation. Needless to say, UConn organizations such as the Finance Society have sharpened my understanding of the intricacies of business unobtainable from textbooks.
Forty-three students traveled to Niceville, FL, an area greatly affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, to assist the Florida Department of Environmental Protection complete restoration projects at state parks and other local beaches. Each year, UConn students provide nearly one million hours of local, national and international community service. Other recent Projects: improving public health in Baltimore, MD; hurricane and tornado relief efforts in the South and Midwest; engineering research in Nicaragua; assisting impoverished societies in Arizona; elementary school mentoring in Connecticut; and annual fall clean-up in Providence, RI.
